Asphalt shingle shipments drop in July

OTTAWA — Shipments of asphalt shingles totalled 3.4 million metric bundles in July, reports StatCan, down 20.6% from the previous month. In comparison with July 2016, shipments were 14.9% lower. Production of asphalt shingles increased 0.2% to 2.9 million metric bundles in July, while production was 0.9% higher compared with July 2016.
