TORONTO ― Black Friday has surpassed Boxing Day as Canadians’ shopping day of choice, according to a Retail Council of Canada survey. Fully 43% of consumers plan to shop on Black Friday, compared to just 34% on Boxing Day. Black Friday shoppers also plan to spend more of their holiday budget on that day, the survey found. Another significant finding was that physical stores are still the go-to destination for holiday shoppers, with just 28% of Canadians’ holiday budgets earmarked for online purchases.
