The Home Depot has announced the appointment of Edward (Ted) Decker to succeed Craig Menear as CEO, and his election to its board of directors, both effective March 1.
Decker, who joined the company in 2000, assumed the newly created role of COO in October 2020, at which time he took over as president from Menear, who remained CEO and chair of the board. Menear will continue in the latter role following the upcoming CEO transition.
“As a 22-year associate of The Home Depot, Ted has nurtured our culture by living our values and demonstrating servant leadership throughout his career,” Menear said in a release. “His ability to blend the art and science of retail is exactly what is needed in the next phase of growth for The Home Depot.”
