BSIA of B.C. gathers industry for Friday morning meetings, education

SURREY, B.C. — Every Friday morning during the latest rise of the COVID-19 crisis, a few dozen members of the Building Supply Industry Association of British Columbia gather on a call. The meeting, chaired by association President Thomas Foreman, is a forum for new ideas and insights into how business is changing under the pandemic. In fact, people from all over the country are dialling in.

Last week, Hardlines’ own Michael McLarney had the opportunity to share some of the research from two studies, the Hardlines Retail Report and its sister research, the Hardlines Market Share Report. He noted that the retail home improvement industry accounts for almost 10 percent of all retail in Canada. It is also facing its first year of negative growth in a decade.
