Hudson’s Bay Co. confirmed last week it will permanently lay off more than 600 employees.
“The pandemic continues to have a significant impact on non-essential retailers,” spokesperson Tiffany Bourré wrote in an email to the Canadian Press. “Due to these circumstances beyond our control, the company has had to make adjustments which have resulted in a reduction in workforce.”
A Toronto employment lawyer is representing workers who are contesting the terms of their termination.
