ATLANTA — Home Depot posted a 6.6% hike in sales for the quarter, as the U.S. housing market gained momentum. Sales at stores open more than a year increased by 4.7%, in line with analyst consensus. Comparable sales at U.S. stores were up 5.4%. Net income rose to $2.44 billion compared to $2.23 billion a year ago. Net sales increased to $26.47 billion, from $24.83 billion last Q2.
