FERNIE, B.C. — The third biennial Bill Adamack Memorial Golf Tournament raised $8,000 for local scholarships and youth sports this past weekend. The event is sponsored by Fernie Home Hardware Building Centre and named for long-time employee Will Adamack, who died unexpectedly in 2012 at the age of 61. Adamack was also a member of the 3300 Club, a local benevolent society which distributed the proceeds of the event. “The $8,000 is going to make a huge difference for a lot of people,” said Sarah Ingram, the tournament’s “official heckler”. “And most of the prizes were donated by local businesses.” Walter Ingram, owner of Fernie Home Hardware Building Centre, credited his suppliers and the local community with making the event possible.
