Sales of existing homes in Canada fell by 3.9 percent between August and September, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association. While about 60 percent of all local markets saw sales fall from August to September, the national number was pulled lower by the fact that markets with declines included Greater Vancouver, Calgary, the Greater Toronto Area, and Montreal.
The actual (not seasonally adjusted) number of transactions in September came in 32.2 percent below September 2021 and about 12 percent below the pre-pandemic 10-year average for that month.
