Lowe’s Cos. acquires Stainmaster brand

Lowe’s Cos. has announced its acquisition of Stainmaster, after a decade as the exclusive national home improvement carrier of the carpet brand. The purchase includes all brand-related intellectual property from its parent company, Invista, and all related trademarks and sub-brands.

“We see great potential to leverage and extend the Stainmaster brand into other product areas to further serve our customers and deliver on our Total Home strategy,” CEO Marvin Ellison said in a release. Ellison introduced the “Total Home” strategy at the beginning of this year, with an aim to make Lowe’s stores the one-stop destination for home repairs and décor.
