MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Lowe’s stores in Charlotte, less than an hour away from the company’s head office, will continue to lead the way in testing new initiatives, CEO Marvin Ellison told the Charlotte Observer this week. Stores in the area were the first to pilot equipment rental this past summer and rolled out contactless lockers for picking up online orders in September. The city’s stores also debuted Lowe’s new store layout.
That trend will continue, Ellison told the Observer. “Charlotte will be like an incubation location for us where we will always test and try new things, perfect them and then we’ll roll them out,” he said. “It will play a huge role in determining what’s new and improved at Lowe’s.”
