April’s construction spending in the U.S. edged up by 0.2 percent, the U.S. Commerce Department reported, while March’s estimate was revised upward from the same figure to a stronger gain of one percent. The seasonally adjusted annual rate for April was $1.52 trillion, up 9.8 percent from April 2020. Homebuilding in April rose by one percent and now stands 29.7 percent above last April.
