Ontario announced sweeping changes to retail restrictions at the end of last week, forcing all but a few retailers to close to in-person shopping. Garden centres are among those who can welcome shoppers in-store at one-quarter capacity between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., as are grocery stores and pharmacies. Most hardware dealers are limited to delivery or curbside pickup between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Big boxes and discount stores may admit customers to buy groceries, medication, and products for household cleaning and safety. Non-essential construction is suspended, but “residential construction activities or projects and related services” and site preparation for residential or other developments are permitted.
