Quebec’s big boxes scrap vax pass early

Quebec’s bars, restaurants, and large-surface retailers no longer need to check vaccine passports since Saturday. That’s when, two days earlier than originally planned, a suite of reopening measures removing the majority of pandemic restrictions went into effect. Public health officials have given their blessing to the sped-up timeline based on the improved situation in most hospitals.

Masking rules remain in place. The province is aiming to make masks optional during the second half of April, with an exception for public transit services which will continue to require them at least until May.
