Saint-Gobain rejects water plea

MERRIMACK, N.H. — Saint-Gobain has turned down a petition calling on it to pay for a water filtration system for local schools, after agreeing to help homeowners impacted by contaminations. The town’s school board last month approved a budget for a filtration system that would bring PFOA levels down to 0. A local group, Citizens for Clean Water, objected to the use of public funds for the project without any assistance from Saint-Gobain. The company had previously agreed to provide clean water connections for homes contaminated with PFOA from the Merrimack plant.
