Sears saga a boon to Home Depot’s delivery business

ATLANTA ― Sears’ woes have been a factor in the growth of Home Depot’s home delivery business, Home Depot CEO Craig Menear told analysts this week. The world’s largest home improvement retailer has seen its market share grow since bringing delivery services in-house.

Menear said Sears has “been a donor over the years” in terms of market share in appliance delivery. “We still think there’s lots of share out there,” he added. Home Depot’s ultimate aim is to reach 90 percent of the U.S. population with same- and next-day delivery.
