BURNABY, B.C. ― Taiga Building Products reported consolidated net sales for the fourth quarter ended December 31 of $298.1 million, compared to $303.9 million a year earlier. The two-percent decrease was largely due to lower commodity prices. Net earnings for the quarter were $5.8 million, up 3.8 percent from $1.5 million. For the year, the company reported sales of $1.3 billion, off from $1.45 billion in 2018. Net earnings were up, however, rising 24 percent to $35.91 million, from $28.97 million in the previous year.
