MONTREAL — TIMBER MART’s 2016 National Buying Show welcomed over 1,300 people, including more than 400 dealer participants, to Montreal’s Palais des congrès. Held the morning following TIMBER MART’S National Dealer Meeting at the Westin Montreal, the event kicked off with a breakfast seminar hosted by motivational speaker Martin Latulippe. Orgill Canada was prominently featured with a central booth and exhibit space, taking over the retail role previously filled by Chalifour. TIMBER MART’s president Bernie Owens was “pleased” with the level of participation. Many regional buying shows are losing numbers, while the BSIA recently announced the postponement of its own show. “As an organization we need to know what works well and what we’re doing right to continue getting that support,” he said.
