Trusscore’s Dave Caputo is on a mission to end the “hegemonic reign” of drywall, The Globe and Mail reports. What began as an aesthetic objection grew into an environmental concern. The Palmerston, Ont.-based firm got its start when Caputo invested in a local plastics extrusion company called MSW Plastics. He transformed it into Trusscore, which makes PVC walls reinforced with truss-shaped cores.
“We want to do to drywall what drywall did to plaster,” Caputo says. He’s found an ally in that quest in TV handyman Bryan Baeumler.
“His passion and hate for drywall is equivalent to Trusscore’s,” says Steve Bosman, who co-founded the MSW business in Canada in 2007.
