U.S. construction spending rises

WASHINGTON — U.S. construction spending rose by 1.3 percent in October on strong single-family home building. September’s decline was revised to 0.5 percent, greater than the estimated 0.3 percent initially announced by the U.S. Commerce Department. Investment in single-family construction jumped by 5.6 percent in October.
