U.S. retail sales edged up by 0.3 percent in February, the U.S. Commerce Department reports. January’s estimate was revised upward to a 4.9 percent increase, from the preliminary report of 3.8 percent. “Higher prices for food and gas means fewer dollars left to be spent at other retailers,” Wells Fargo economist Sam Bullard told Financial Post.
