U.S. retail rebound exceeds expectations

WASHINGTON ― U.S. retail sales recovered by more than expected in October, data from the U.S. Commerce Department shows. After declining by 0.3% in September, the value of sales rose by the same percentage in October. The median estimate in a Bloomberg survey was a 0.2% increase. Excluding the automotive and petroleum categories, retail sales edged up by 0.1%.
