Walmart plans Moncton warehouse

Walmart Canada is constructing a distribution centre in Moncton to support its grocery business in the Atlantic provinces. The retailer says the 221,000-square-foot facility represents an investment of $56 million and will create more than 200 jobs when it opens in the fall of next year.

“Moncton allows us to be in reach of all those 43 [Atlantic] stores, including Newfoundland.,” regional VP Tom Flaim explained. “It’s also closer to where all of our products come from.”
