MELBOURNE — Australian packaging manufacturer Amcor is exploring a bid to take over rival Bemis, sources have told Bloomberg. The plans are in the early stages and it’s not yet known whether an initial approach has been made. Amcor issued a statement affirming it is “continually reviewing opportunities to improve shareholder value and, as part of that process, regularly assesses a range of strategic options.” Bemis spokespersons have not commented.
