OTTAWA — Higher new home prices in British Columbia were responsible for most of the 0.2% uptick in September’s New Housing Price Index, according to StatCan, while results in the rest of Canada were mixed. Builders attributed Vancouver’s 0.7% and Kelowna’s 0.9% increase to better market conditions. Prices for new homes in most Census Metropolitan Areas of Southern Ontario and in all four CMAs surveyed in Alberta were unchanged for the month.
