VANCOUVER — West Fraser Timber reported Q4 sales of $1.38 billion, an increase of $269 million or 24% from a year ago. Earnings amounted to $207 million, or $2.66 per share. Sales for fiscal 2017 totalled $5.13 billion while earnings came to $596 million or $7.63 per share. The company was hit with a final countervailing duty of 17.99% by the U.S. government in the course of the ongoing softwood lumber dispute.
