TORONTO — Canadian Tire has a new strategy to make it easier for online shoppers to find merchandise from its Sport Chek banner. A YouTube video is embedded with links to several product pages, in a kind of electronic Advent calendar. The technology is basic so far: the links to the products are stacked in a column to the right of the action. But other similar advertisements have “tagged” moving items in the videos themselves with clickable links to purchase forms, according to Reuters.
