CALGARY — Associates at Ply Gem Building Products’ facility here joined with dozens of other company-wide manufacturing facilities, offices, and distribution centers across North America to commemorate the company’s 75th anniversary with a Founder’s Day celebration. Ply Gem was founded in 1943 by entrepreneur Bernard Hewitt, who along with his business partners anticipated the high demand for raw materials to build houses and furniture for veterans and their families at the end of World War II.
