TORONTO — More than 600 people are out of work after the company that operates Sears Home Services went into receivership. Homeowners are on the hook for more than $3 million in deposits on unfinished jobs ranging from carpet and door installations to painting. SHS Services Management, which had been handling Sears’ installed business for almost a year, says it expects to lose more than $18 million this year.
