LAS VEGAS — The newest generation of smart-home devices was on display at the Consumer Electronics Show held last week. Samsung showcased the fourth generation of its Family Hub refrigerator. Like its predecessors, it includes a 21.5-inch touchscreen and cameras built in to the doors, but the latter are now equipped with image recognition technology, allowing the unit to suggest recipes based on fridge contents. For the bathroom, the U by Moen shower system can now connect to Alexa or Google Assistant so that users can start the shower and set its temperature remotely before stepping in. Kohler’s Numi 2.0 is both a toilet and a bidet, with five preset combos of mood lighting and sound.
