MINNEAPOLIS — Target is offering some Canadian customers free credit monitoring for a year, in the aftermath of a major data breach that saw millions of consumers’ private information compromised by hackers. Although Canadian stores were not affected, Canadians who shopped at Target stores in the U.S. were informed that their contact information could be affected, but unlike their American counterparts, not their credit and debit account data. At the same time, the notice has also been sent to some Canadians who were not in the U.S. during the relevant period, the Canadian Press notes.
