TORONTO — Sales rose for Shoppers Drug Mart in the fourth quarter, but profits fell slightly as the ice storm put a damper on winter shopping and fewer Canadians sought relief for coughs and colds. In its last expected report before joining the Loblaw family of banners, Shoppers posted losses of 3.4%, even though revenue rose from $2.72 to $2.75 billion from the previous year. Same-store sales also ticked up 1.2%. CEO Domenic Pilla called the quarter a success “by any measure,” The Toronto Star reports.
