ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Costco Wholesale Corp. reported net income of $906 million in Q3, a 21% surge from $750 million the same period last year. Net sales rose by 7.3% to $11.6 billion, compared with $10.81 billion last year. For the 35-week year to date, net sales reached $99.89 billion, up 8.3% from $92.24 billion. Comp sales company-wide were up 5.4% for April, and up 6.6% year to date. Canada was slower, with a comp decrease of 1.9% in April and an increase of only 1.1% year to date. Not including gasoline sales, Canadian comps were up 2.3% and 5.4%, respectively.
