MONTREAL ― Amazon is set to open a distribution centre in Montreal’s Lachine area, the e-retail giant announced last week. The packing and shipping facility will create 300 new jobs, according to Amazon, and will be operational in time for the holiday season. Amazon has similar warehouses in B.C., Alberta and Ontario. Amazon Canada VP Alexandre Gagnon said the centre will help the company to “better serve our customers across Quebec”.
