MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Lowe’s Cos. is seeking at least 53,000 new employees ahead of the spring season, according to a company release. That number is less than the 65,000 staff (including 50,000 seasonal workers) the retailer set out to recruit for its busiest season last year. Lowe’s says it will welcome applicants to job fairs at each of its 1,700 U.S. stores beginning this week and over the next three months.
