ATLANTA ― Home Depot has opened a flatbed distribution centre (FDC) in Dallas in a move to strengthen same- and next-day delivery service. The facility, the first of 40 planned for the largest U.S. markets, allows for the processing of heavy-duty items like concrete and lumber. Home Depot’s $1.2 billion strategy for diversifying its warehouses involves the construction of 150 facilities of various new types including the FDCs. The company has released a video showcasing the centre’s operations.
