Actor, comedian and director Carl Reiner died this week at the age of 98. After appearing on Broadway in the 1940s, he got his start on TV with Sid Caesar’s Your Show of Shows. He formed a long-time collaboration with Mel Brooks, most famously for their oft-performed sketch “The 2000 Year Old Man.” In the 1960s he was known as the creator of The Dick van Dyke Show, while his directing credits included Oh, God!, The Jerk and That Old Feeling. During his career Reiner was recognized with a total of 11 Emmy Awards and a Grammy. His children include actor-director Rob Reiner, author Annie Reiner and artist Lucas Reiner.
