MONTREAL — Amazon’s first Quebec fulfillment centre is now operational in the Montreal borough of Lachine. The e-retail behemoth’s 13th warehouse in Canada will employ 300 full-time workers to pack and ship items. Amazon, which has taken heat for its work conditions, said in a statement that full-time employees will receive “comprehensive pay ($16 and up)” and “industry-leading benefits, including medical, vision and dental coverage.” The first order received at the facility earlier this month was a Hot Wheels Rooftop Race Garage.
