BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart is suing Visa for $5 billion over card swipe fees, alleging that they are excessive and violate antitrust provisions against price-fixing. In December a federal judge in Brooklyn approved a class action suit against Visa and MasterCard, but several merchants objected that it was inadequate. Wal-Mart joined Target and Amazon in opting out of the suit and going alone, Reuters reported.
