WASHINGTON — The U.S. Census Bureau announced that the country’s new single-family home sales for October were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 999,000. That pace was below the revised September rate of 1,002,000, but 41.5 percent higher than the estimate for last October. The median sales price of new houses sold in October was $330,600, while the average was $386,200.
