Canfor Corp. posted Q1 profits of $427.8 million, or $3.42 per diluted share. Those earnings are compared with a loss of $70 million or $0.56 per share, reported a year ago. Sales rose to $1.94 billion from $1.17 billion in the comparable period of 2020. The company said increases in lumber prices significantly outstripped higher log costs.
