3M Co. this week said it earned a net income of $1.52 billion, or $2.59 per share, in Q2. That was up from $1.306 billion, or $2.25 a share, a year ago. Adjusted earnings of $2.59 per share beat estimates of $2.28. Sales rose to $8.95 billion from $7.18 billion, topping estimates of $8.525 billion.
