Walmart Canada is donating $100,000 to Food Banks of Canada in order to provide newly arrived families from Afghanistan with some 200,000 meals.
The company is also making in-kind donations of household items, toys, and craft supplies to help children weather quarantine. Walmart Foundation in turn is contributing $100,000 to the company’s efforts. Newcomers are also being invited to apply for jobs at Walmart stores and DCs across Canada.
