Matériaux Pont-Masson, which joined BMR last July, announced its acquisition of a neighbouring BMR location. The BMR F.V. Lalonde Renovation Centre in Les Coteaux, Que., will be eighth store in Pont-Masson’s network, which straddles the Ontario-Quebec boundary.
“On top of having family ties, both our family-oriented enterprises have cohabited in the same territory for over 40 years,” Marie-Claude Lalonde (pictured with incoming president Eric Bailey), who is retiring as president of F.V. Lalonde, said in a release. “I am very happy to see the Bailey family continue to operate the Les Coteaux site.”
The store includes 17,000 square feet of sales floor as well as a 70,000-square-foot lumber yard and 25,000 square feet of covered warehousing. Its large sales area will house the Matériaux Design division, which is relocating from its original site nearby to make way for office space for the Matériaux Pont-Masson headquarters.
