Federated Co-operatives Ltd. has signed the Canada Plastics Pact (CPP), committing to reducing problematic plastics throughout its supply chain. “Signing this pact signals our collective commitment to focus on the sustainability of our communities in our business practices and to do our part as stewards of the environment,” Pam Skotnitsky, FCL’s VP for strategy, said in a release.
The move builds on FCL’s previous efforts to reduce plastic use, which include making the switch to compostable straws and cutlery and working to eliminate plastic rings from private-label canned beverages.
