TORONTO — Retail enthusiasm for Canadian expansion has cooled in the aftermath of Target’s botched entry, according to a new report from commercial real estate firm CBRE. Canada was the number-six destination for new retailers at the end of 2012, Global News reports, but now neither it nor any of its cities makes the ranking. Target’s experience may have cautioned other retailers, with Nordstrom pushing back introduction of its discount Rack banner to 2017.
