BMR Group has closed its two La Shop locations on the island of Montreal. The smaller-format urban concept was designed to offer a more curated selection to condo dwellers in up-and-coming neighbourhoods. The first store (pictured) opened in the Griffintown neighbourhood of Montreal in 2018, with a second location added the following year in the nearby town of Mount Royal, Que. A BMR rep told Hardlines that the COVID-19 pandemic and construction in the Montreal area had disrupted operations and reduced profitability.
