Canadian Tire supports staff in wake of homicide

A Toronto-area Canadian Tire store remains closed as police investigate the stabbing death of an unidentified woman there Monday evening. A local man has been charged with first-degree murder in the attack at the retailer’s location in Mississauga’s Heartland Town Centre mall.

“The safety of our employees and customers is of utmost importance to us and we are working closely with the Peel Regional Police as they investigate the incident,” Canadian Tire Corp. said in a statement. “Counselling services have been made available to support our store staff through this difficult time.”
