U.S. retail slides in November

U.S. retail sales fell by 0.6 percent in November, according to U.S. Commerce Department data, the largest decline in nearly a year. Excluding automotive and gasoline categories, sales edged down by 0.2 percent. The decline, which followed a 1.3 percent increase in October, affected nine out of 13 retail categories, including building materials.
