Cyberattack costs Empire $25M

Grocery giant Empire Co. says costs related to last month’s cyberattack will run to $25 million. The parent of Sobeys and IGA would not specify whether the incident was related to ransomware, nor whether ransom was paid, but employees have told CBC News that ransomware was involved. Empire is still working to determine whether customer data was compromised in the attack.
