3M Co. reported a loss of $12.35 per share in the fourth quarter, compared to earnings of $0.14 per share a year earlier. The conglomerate’s financial results were impacted by a $10.3 billion settlement in litigation over water pollution, related to its use of “forever chemicals”. On an adjusted basis, earnings for the quarter came to $2.17 per share, topping analyst estimates of $1.72 per share. Adjusted revenues of $8 billion likewise surpassed an average projection of $7.87 billion.
